Studio Policies and Procedures

TIME:    Weekly private lessons are offered in 30, 45, 60 or 90- minute sessions, depending on the student’s age/level. 

MATERIALS:  Students are expected to arrive for lessons on time with all their materials and music.  The teacher will obtain all needed books and materials at the expense of the student/parent on an as needed basis. Parents will be given notice of the need to purchase materials prior to purchase.
SCHEDULE/CALENDAR: The teacher does not teach during the week of Thanksgiving, the week of Christmas, the week of the 4th of July and the last week in August.  This schedule is subject to change with notice in advance. 
The studio is open during the summer.  It is strongly encouraged to continue private lessons.  It will also guarantee a spot in the schedule in the fall especially if there is a waiting list.   
*If the student/parent plans a vacation, the teacher will need advanced notification to ensure correct monthly billing.
TUITION AND PAYMENT:  Tuition may be paid via cash, check payable to Evoved Inc., or credit card/ debit card via PayPal.  You can pay directly from the electronic invoice you receive. There is a PayPal payment link on the electronic invoice.
The studio will bill at the end of each month.  The parent/student will receive an electronic invoice for the prior month’s lessons to be due no later than the first lesson of following month.  **Billing may vary depending on the amount of weeks in each month.

CANCELLATIONS:    Lessons canceled with twenty-four (24) hours advance notice will be rescheduled.   *Students are responsible to pay for lessons canceled without twenty-four hours notice.  No refund will be given for no-shows or tardiness.* However, if an absence arises due to unforeseen situations such as an accident or family emergency or if roads are impassible due to weather, the teacher will make an effort to accommodate a makeup lesson. Lessons missed by the teacher for any reason will be made up at a mutually convenient time.
SICK POLICY:  If the student is sick and/ or missed school due to illness or not feeling well, do not send them to lessons. Illness- related cancellations will be rescheduled on a space- available basis.   
PARENT PARTICIPATION:  Parents are encouraged to be supportive and active participants in practice at home.  They are also encouraged to attend and quietly observe lessons once a month but it is not a requirement.
DISCONTINUING LESSONS:   The teacher asks for one month’s notice prior to discontinuing lessons, however, respects the student’s right to end lessons at any time.  Note:  The teacher reserves the right to terminate lessons with any student for non-compliance with any of the stated lesson policies and requirements listed above including unpaid tuition, excess amount of absences/ unprepared lessons, or if they should lack interest.
COMMUNICATION: The best way to contact the teacher is via email, which will be promptly returned with an email reply or phone call.  Phone calls are also welcome, especially on weekdays between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
